The latest Avengers: Endgame set video features the behind-the-scenes of Tony Stark aka. Iron Man and Doctor Strange’s important encounter in the movie. Meeting each other for the first time in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, the snappy duo quickly became a fan-favorite thanks to their fun dynamic. But aside from the two’s playful banter, they were also among the most significant players during this whole Thanos debacle that led to the Mad Titan’s ultimate defeat.

With his ability to peer through time thanks to the Eye of Agamotto/Time Stone, Strange looked into the future to see their chances of winning the fight against Thanos in Infinity War, and he said that there was only one out of 14 million possibilities that the Avengers emerge victorious in the battle. This was the source of countless theories with regard to things panning out in Endgame. And even after five years since Strange made the bold statement, Stark kept it in mind, asking him when they reunited during the massive battle at Avengers HQ if this was their one chance. Strange, however, refused to answer because it would not happen if he confirmed it. It was the only real interaction between Stark and Strange in Avengers 4, and now fans can see how the scene was mapped out and shot via new behind-the-scenes clips.

Courtesy of Downey’s assistant, Jimmy Rich comes two set videos shared on Instagram revealing the process of creating that short but meaningful conversation between Iron Man and Doctor Strange. In the first clip, the actors alongside directors Joe and Anthony Russo discuss how they want to execute the scene. The foursome references what Strange originally told Stark in Infinity War about winning against Thanos. Marvel Studios producers Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Trinh Tran were also on set that day. The second video, on the other hand, shows the filming of the bit, which reveals Stark’s deleted retort when Strange refused to confirm if they’re on the winning timeline. Watch them below:

It’s a shame that there won’t be anymore entanglement between Stark and Strange in the MCU considering that the former is dead. The actors had great chemistry in Infinity War, and it would be nice to see how that budding relationship would’ve developed had Iron Man survived. Then again, considering Strange’s ability to travel to other dimensions, he could still encounter a variation of the genius, billionaire from another reality. With no Eye of Agamotto in the present time, however, it’ll be interesting to see how Strange moves forward with his responsibility to guard the main universe from interdimensional threats.

It’s curious why Strange refused to tell Stark if they were in the correct timeline in Avengers: Endgame. Since the sorcerer didn’t elaborate on the countless possibilities that he saw, there’s a possibility that he didn’t know at that time whether or not they were meant to win the battle against Thanos. He knew full well what had to be done to defeat the Mad Titan, and if he was totally sure that Stark wouldn’t have any second thoughts about sacrificing himself for the greater good, he may have even told him about it in Infinity War. While the two worked well together, they were both apprehensive of each other, and Strange could still be potentially skeptical that Stark would actually do what was needed to take down the villain. At one point, he even had to nudge Iron Man onto the right direction by reminding him that they only had one chance to do this right.
